Background: When he was asked why he wanted to become a Hunter, Leorio said it was because he wanted money. Later, Kurapika found out that Leorio joined because he wanted to become a doctor that saved lives for no charge. (He got this idea because of his inability to save his friend as a result of having little money) In order to achieve his dream, however, Leorio needed the money that he would earn from being a Hunter.

Personality: Leorio is brash and often impulsive. When Gon, Kurapika and Leorio met the first examiner--an old lady who asked them an impossible question, Leorio instantly let his anger take over and began to reprimand her for her inane questions.

Nen: Leorio said that he would begin developing his nen abilities after he passed his medical exams.
